COEX 2027 E-Poster Competition: Official Author Guidelines

Precision Perioperative Care: Individualized Decision-Making for Patients with Complex Comorbidities.
A. General Provisions & Eligibility
* Scientific Categories: The competition accepts original research and case reports/case series. It is open to scientific works in anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, intensive care, and related disciplines, with a specific focus on the management of patients with comorbidities.
* Scientific Scope: Submissions must align with the Anesthesia and Coexisting Disease (COEX) symposium scope. Relevant topics include anesthetic management for complex comorbidities, perioperative risk assessment, critical care, special populations, and innovative perioperative strategies.
* Participant Eligibility: The competition is open to medical students, general practitioners, anesthesiology residents, anesthesiologists, and subspecialty trainees (fellows). One author must be officially designated as the presenting author.
* Originality and Ethics: Submitted abstracts and E-posters must be original, unpublished, and strictly free from plagiarism or data fabrication. Authors must ensure full patient confidentiality and comply with all institutional ethical approval requirements.
B. Competition Mechanics & Registration
* Registration Deadline: Participants must register and upload their submission files via the official COEX 2027 portal no later than December 4, 2026.
* Required Documents: A complete submission requires an Indonesian abstract (PDF), an English abstract (PDF), and the final E-poster (PDF, with a file size between 1 MB and 10 MB).
* Registration Details: Submissions must include the E-poster title, full names (including academic titles) of the presenter and supervisor, institutional affiliations, and active contact information.
* Presentation Format: Verified E-posters will be displayed during the symposium, and finalists selected by the judging panel must present their work offline. The total presentation duration is 15 minutes, which includes both the oral delivery and a subsequent discussion session.
* Evaluation Criteria: Final scoring is based on scientific quality, clinical relevance, originality, visual design, oral presentation clarity, and proficiency during the Q&A session.
C. Abstract Submission Guidelines
* Language and Length: Abstracts must be submitted in both Indonesian (maximum 200 words) and English (maximum 250 words).
* Page Formatting: Abstracts should be formatted on a single A4 page with specific margins: 4 cm for the top and left, and 3 cm for the bottom and right.
* Typography: The title must be concise (maximum 15 words), devoid of abbreviations, and formatted in Arial 14, bold, centered, and single-spaced. Author names must be written in Arial 12 and centered without academic titles; the presenting author's name must be italicized and denoted with an asterisk.
* Body Structure: The main text must be written as a single structured paragraph using Arial 11, justified, and single-spaced. Original research must include Introduction, Subjects and Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Case reports must include Introduction, Case Description, Management, and Conclusion.
* Keywords: Submissions must include 3 to 5 alphabetically arranged keywords, preferably utilizing standard MeSH terms.
D. E-Poster Design & Formatting
* Format Specifications: The E-poster must be written in Indonesian and formatted as a single portrait slide with a 9:16 aspect ratio (recommended resolution: 1080 x 1920 pixels) in PDF format.
* Content Restrictions: The word count must range from 500 to 1,000 words, excluding the title, author affiliations, visual captions, and references. Uncommon abbreviations must be explicitly defined upon first use, and footnotes are strictly prohibited.
* Visual Design: Authors must maintain a clear visual hierarchy, balancing textual information with relevant tables, graphs, illustrations, or clinical images, while ensuring all typography remains highly legible.
* References: E-posters must include 5 to 10 Vancouver-style references published within the last five years. In-text citations should use superscript Arabic numerals. For sources with more than six authors, list the first six authors followed by "et al.".
E. Final Provisions
* Participants bear complete responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their submitted data.
* Submission constitutes formal agreement from all listed authors regarding the content of the abstract and E-poster.
* The organizing committee reserves the right to reject any submission that fails to meet administrative or technical requirements. Any unaddressed matters will be adjudicated by the COEX 2027 Scientific Committee.
